Vacation Bidding Summer 2024 is open
Dear Crew,
SUMMER VACATION BIDDING is conducted by AFA and open for US crew in the attachment added to this newsletter.
We received the information necessary for vacation bidding yesterday and we are ready to open bids for US crew today.
Bidding will open today, Friday, February 23rd at 16:00 EST.
Bidding will close on Monday, February 26th at 23:59 EST.
During this period each crew member will be able to choose 2 weeks maximum. These 2 weeks can be back-to-back or separate.
Each vacation week is constructed with 4 vacation days+3 Off Days.
That means that if you have 8 days vacations total assigned to your name, you are able to bid for 2 weeks long vacation.
Tuesday, February 27th, Bidding Results will be announced.
On Wednesday, February 28th Secondary Bidding will open for those who would like to bid for additional time and those who missed the first opportunity or if the seniority didn’t allow to hold their choice. Secondary bidding will close on Friday, March 1st. at 23:59 EST.
We encourage you to submit several choices to secure your bids. Each week has been assigned a number, f.e. April 1st to April 7th = week 1. If you want vacation starting on April 1st to 7h you must bid: 1 as your first choice.
Once you select your bids you MUST email them to:
[email protected] from your WORK Email address, or
[email protected] from your PERSONAL/PRIVATE Email address.
Please help us by writing your NAME, BASE, RANK before you write your choices. For example: Katarzyna Mroczek, MIA, SCCM, choice1) 1, 2
2) 3,4
3) 17,20 etc.…
Vacation attachment, page 1 has general information and BID SHEET FORMAT. Vacation attachment, page 2 has time slots for JFK and MIA. Each week has been NUMBERED. Please use these numbers to make our job easier!
ONLY AFTER the secretary bids close, crew will be able to request additional vacations via crew connex.

On a separate note, we would like to address the charter flights. As low hours are challenge here at Norse, Company is trying to create additional opportunities for crew. They come in a form of a “last minute charters”. US crew are being offered these flights and days off are being purchased from Crew. Although no one is forcing us to sell them, it creates extra income that AFA encourages everyone to take. It would be very unfortunate if the US crew would be excluded from these opportunities in the future.
Today base transfers were closed. Below are the published awards.
From JFK to MIA following crew members in seniority order were awarded their transfers, effective April 1st, 2024.
