- When do we get a new contract?
- Our contract is valid until November 22, 2024. We will begin the negotiation process with the company prior to it's expiration, and will notify the crew when that process begins.
- Do I have to pay my union dues?
- Yes. All members of the union MUST pay dues to be considered a Member in Good Standing. Continuous non-payment of dues could lead to termination of your employment with Norse. Please see detailed information about member standing and the consequences of non-payment of dues HERE
- How do I pay my union dues?
- If you have filled out a dues authorization form and sent it in to AFA, you should have $50 a month, or $25 per pay period, being deducted from your paycheck.
- If this is not occurring and you have received a bill in saying that you owe money, you can contact AFA Membership Services and pay the balance online at https://unionly.io/o/afacwa/dues
- Where are my union dues going?
- Your dues are used to fund flight attendant priorities. What are those priorities? You can read more about them HERE.
- There are four distinct areas where dues money is spent: Local and Airline-specific, Negotiations, System Board (Grievances), and International Office Support.
- You can see on the Dues Pie Chart the breakdown of what bits go to what areas. For a One Council Airline like norse, the LEC/MEC portion would be combined.

- Where can I find my manuals?
- You can find your manuals in Centrik. It is also the place for you to write safety reports about incidents that happen while you are at work (on board, at the hotel, etc).
- Access Centrik by going to https://flynorse.centrik.net in your browser.
- There is also an app that can be used, but be sure that if you are using it in offline mode, that you have the most recent version with updated manuals and notices
- What is an AOC?
- In terms relevant to us, an AOC or Aircraft Operating Certification tells you where the aircraft are registered, what routes they can fly, and what crew can operate them.
- EG: Flight # N0 0001 is a Norwegian Registered Aircraft flying from OSL-JFK with crew who are currently certified with EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) medicals and attestations.
- In terms relevant to us, an AOC or Aircraft Operating Certification tells you where the aircraft are registered, what routes they can fly, and what crew can operate them.
- What do N0 and Z0 mean?
- N0 is the code for flights under the Norwegian AOC. EG: OSL-LAX
- Z0 is the code for flights under the UK AOC. EG: LGW-MBJ
- What do the different codes on my roster mean?
- F - Day Off
- ILL - Sick Day
- VAC - Vacation
- PD - Personal Day
- WF - Day off as part of a Vacation request block
- CBT - Computer Based Training
- This is done on your personal electronic device at home or on a layover
- RSV10 - Reserve with a 10hr call out period
- SBY3 - Standby with a 3hr call out period
- RT1 - Recurrent
- This is done in person
- DH - Deadhead
- Positioning as a passenger
- What is our minimum guaranteed block hours for the month?
- 60 hrs
- How many hours do I get paid for SBY3 if they don't use me?
- 3 hrs
- Do I get paid extra for RSV10?
- No.
- Do I still get paid flight hours if I deadhead?
- Yes, you still get the flight hours if you are deadheading for work purposes.
- How many sick days do I get in a year?
- 7 days
- How many personal days do I get in a year?
- 3 days
- How many vacation days do I get in a year?
- Vacation days are based on years of service with the company.
- EG: 1-4 years of service = 14 vacation days
- Vacation days are based on years of service with the company.
- If the company asks to buy my day off, how much do I get paid?
- BDO, or Bought Day Off, is $135
- If the company asks permission to change my day off, do I get paid for it?
- No, if you consent to changing your day off to another day, you do not get paid extra for it
- What do I get paid if I work on a holiday?
- If you work on one of the 7 approved holiday days, you will receive $75
- The holidays are New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- What is our Sick Call Policy?
- If you fall ill prior to or during your duty, call crew control immediately and notify them.
- If you call out sick, you will be considered sick for the entirety of your duty unless you notify them otherwise and there is enough time left for them to utilise you.
- EG: You have a 3 day JFK-LGW-JFK sling and then 3 days off. If you call out sick of this sling, you will be marked as ILL the entire 3 days as you will not be able to be used for another trip.
- If you call out of a 6 day w pattern FLL-LGW-MCO-LGW-FLL and feel better after 2 days, you could be utilised for another trip and so you will see a code such as RSV10 or SBY3 on your roster for the remaining 4 days.

- What is a No Show?
- Not showing up for a scheduled flight
- Calling Crew Control reporting unable to perform duty less than 4 hours before rostered flight without proper cause such as a doctor's note, police report, etc
- Not responding to a call from Crew Control or returning the call within 15 minutes of first missed call
- Showing up for flight without current passport or crew-ID. Passport must have a minimum of 6 months validity and 2-4 blank pages.

- How many hours do I get paid for Vacation Days?
- 2 hrs per day
- How many hours do I get paid for Sick Days?
- 2 hrs per day
- How many hours do I get paid for Personal Days?
- 2 hrs per day
- What happens if I use all my sick days/vacation days/personal days and I need to call out?
- The company deducts 1hr of flight pay per day if you are over your allotted paid time off.
- How many hours do I get paid for training?
- 3 hrs if the training is 9hrs or less per day.
- How many hours do I get paid for CBTs?
- 2 hrs per day
- Does Norse have a Drug and Alcohol Policy?
- Yes. In the UK AOC Manuals, you can find this in OM-A 1.5.1.2 & OM-A 6.1, and in the NO AOC Manuals, you can find this in OM-A 6.2.1 & OM-A 6.2.2.

- If the company makes me take a drug test before or after my flight, do I get paid for it?
- Yes. This is classified as a "mandatory meeting" according to our CBA. The company is required to pay you 2hrs of flight pay if they require you to take a drug test while you are on duty before or after your flight.
- To ensure you get paid, have a representative from the US based crew reach out to Gine with the names of all US crew involved and tell her the date of the drug test so that she is able to add it to your pay checks
- Does Norse have a Social Media policy?
- Yes. The social media policy covers a wide range of apps. Familiarize yourself with it HERE
- If I have issues with a hotel, what kind of report should I write?
- You should write an OSR/Service Report on Centrik and be sure to send a copy of the report to [email protected]
- Who do I contact if I am having issues with my ID90 or if I need to add or change people on my benefits?

- How do I file a report on Centrik?
- There is a step by step guide available under the Centrik & Reporting section including what to do after you file the report.
- I'm not getting union newsletters. Who can I talk to?
- Email us at [email protected] and we will verify the contact information you have in the system. You can also find all our newsletters under the Communications tab
- Management has scheduled a meeting with me but I want my union rep there. What do I do?
- Tell management that you would like your union rep present at the meeting. Once you do this, they MUST notify the union so that you can have a representative present
- Email the union with the situation at hand, including all the details. The more information they know before the meeting, the better they will be able to represent you.
- If your union rep is unable to attend the meeting as scheduled, a new date/time will be chosen for the meeting to ensure you have representation.
- What happened to our 2023 vacation days?
- Currently, US crew are not able to take vacation between December 15, 2023 and January 15, 2024. As a result, all unused 2023 vacation days have been rolled over into 2024 to ensure those days are not lost
- If you need to use a vacation day before December 15, 2023, reach out to crew planning and request them.
- The union is working with the company to ensure that US crew are able to use their vacation time as needed for the holidays in 2024.
