Flight PAC
"The people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, reckless, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demanded these high qualities to represent them…" - President James A. Garfield, 20th President of the United States
Among AFA-CWA’s most important responsibilities is the advancement of issues important to flight attendants on Capitol Hill.
The aviation industry is highly regulated and what happens in the halls of government directly impacts our jobs--especially for an foreign airline like Norse.
The AFA Government Affairs Department is our voice in Washington, D.C. and elsewhere. The relationships that have been cultivated with our political allies have enabled our Union to promote our agenda as US-based flight attendants of a foreign airline and helped secure flying rights for Norse. Therefore, it is our responsibility as your Union to be involved on your behalf in the political and legislative arenas.
What is FlightPAC/COPE
The CWA Political Action Fund (FlightPAC) is your political voice in D.C. and across the country. The welfare of all Flight Attendants is tied very closely to government policies. We are funded 100% by voluntary contributions from AFA members. All donations are used to educate decision-makers in Washington, D.C., and build Flight Attendant-partisan allies in the House and Senate. FlightPAC was created as a tool to help represent our concerns to the policymakers working on these issues on a daily basis. It serves as a critical complement to AFA’s lobbying efforts and greatly helps to advance Flight Attendant-partisan issues in the Capitol.
If you did not make a Flight PAC contribution and want to make one, there is still time to contribute. You can contact your Government Affairs representative, Pamela Festa-Vilchez, or the AFA Government Affairs Director, Stephen Schembs, to contribute or change your contribution: [email protected]
