7) Norse-AFA Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Representatives
1. Final Summer 2023 Vacation Awards
The dispute period for Summer 2023 vacation awards ended yesterday at 1200 and are now final. You can see the awards on SharePoint or in the image below.
2. Union Contract (save to your device)
Many of you have requested a copy of our collective bargaining agreement (CBA or "Contract"). Our CBA can be downloaded here:
Please save a digital copy of the CBA to your device. We will soon make printed copies available for anyone who wants a paper copy.
3. How do you file a grievance?
Many crew have asked how to file a grievance if necessary. For non-disciplinary grievances, you must specify the area of the contract or the company work rule that the company violated and send the information to [email protected]. If you have a disciplinary grievance, please email [email protected] with a short explanation of the discipline you received.
4. How do we calculate pay?
Many of you have questions about how we can calculate our pay. JFK crew member Lincoln McMahon developed a pay calculator which can calculate your pay for the month. The calculator and guide are below. Make sure to download a copy of the calculator so you can use it for personal use.
The Scandic Lillestrom has become popular not just for crew but for many travelers and business people. The cost to stay at the Scandic Lillestrom during the summer is going up significantly and Norse had to choose a new hotel. While it’s not official just yet, the new hotel is likely going to be the Scanic Solli, a centrally located hotel on the west side of Oslo. Some cabin crew have already stayed at the Solli. Depending on which exit you come out of, the hotel is a 4-9 minute walk from the Nationaltheatret Station (one stop after Oslo Sentralstasjon). The Solli is older than the Lillestrom hotel but has the same amenities. Not all rooms will have refrigerators but they will be available upon request. The hotel is working on getting a communal microwave.
6. Reciprocal Jumpseat Agreements
Norse has signed a reciprocal Jumpseat Agreement with Spirit Airlines. The agreement is scheduled to go into effect on June 1st and depends on Norse successfully programming ID90travel properly. Spirit is also on ID90travel and we were told there shouldn’t be any issues, but given the IT department’s track record, we should be prepared for a possible delay. We will be checking up with the Company this week on the progress of the Spirit Jumpseat ID90travel implementation and provide you with an update this weekend. We are also waiting for the IT department to activate Norse on the MyIDtavel platform, which is used by most airlines (American, JetBlue, etc.). Until we are on MyIDtravel, we will be limited to only negotiating agreements with the few airlines on ID90travel.
7. Norse-AFA Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Representatives
Norse and the AFA achieved another historic event with the formation of the Norse-AFA EAP/Peer Support Program. Traditionally, airlines offer EAP programs administered by 3rd parties that crew are not familiar with and often leads to confusion and non-utilization. Norse recognized the success of the AFA EAP and has agreed to let the AFA handle all EAP related issues for all Norse cabin crew. Norse cabin crew from all bases (CDG, FLL, JFK, LGW, and OSL) were interviewed and selected by AFA EAP Director Heather Healy in consultation with the unions. Last week, the new Norse EAP reps completed several days of Basic EAP training in Chicago and are now ready to help and assist their cabin crew colleagues with personal or work related problems. Now, any Norse CCM who needs help can get it regardless of nationality or base. EAP is only a phone call/text away: +1-301-437-0390
