Summer 2023 Vacation Awards Now Available

Dear Cabin Crew,

The Summer 2023 vacation seniority-based bid closed yesterday at 1200 Eastern and the awards are available below by clicking on the link or image below. Please review the results carefully. The deadline to dispute the results is tomorrow 14MAY at 1200 Eastern. As you can tell by looking at the awards there are many unbid slots. These slots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on June 1st by contacting planning. We will communicate exactly how and when to request these slots soon.
 

When placing a vacation bid during this seniority based around, some of you made multiple submissions. You could only bid for one (1) week of vacation in this round, so if you bid more than once, you were awarded your last submission.
 

This was the first seniority-based scheduling function we had at Norse which is something to be excited about, but we also recognize it wasn't perfect and could have been better. We know that many of you were upset you could only bid for one week in this round. The decision to restrict seniority-based bidding to one (1) week was to avoid the worst case scenario--where most cabin crew would place a bid for Summer 2023 vacation and the junior people would be "locked out". It turns out this wasn't the case. The majority of cabin crew did not bid for vacation and as a result, everyone was awarded what they bid for.

For the Winter 2023 Vacation bidding, we are going to allow two, possibly three, weeks of seniority-based bidding. Allowing 2+ weeks to be bid at once will likely result in some crew being denied their first choice; however, we will likely implement a 2nd, 3rd, etc. choice preference system to give those who were denied their first choice the opportunity to select alternative choices.
