FAA Reauthorization Act
On June 9th, 2023 Bill H.R. 3935 was introduced by the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves (R-MO), full Committee Ranking Member Rick Larsen (D-WA), Aviation Subcommittee Chairman Garret Graves (R-LA), and Subcommittee Ranking Member Steve Cohen (D-TN), and was approved by the committee on June 14th.
H.R. 3935, the “Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act” or better known as the FAA reauthorization Bill, proposes a $104B funding for the next five years. It would reauthorize the Federal Aviation Administration (‘FAA’) and aviation safety and infrastructure programs for five years. Including provisions to facilitate accessibility of passengers with disabilities. Facilitates access to aeronautical maintenance data. It promises to establish the necessary talent pipeline in all aviation departments like the FAA, NATCA, Pilot programs, etc. to ensure innovation and safety for the near future. Many of the provisions in this act would benefit Airports to stay up to date with aviation systems and runway infrastructure (AIP), resulting in safer airport. Lastly the bill will facilitate the introduction of new technology and new airplane designs into the industry. Ensuring that America remains a Leader in the aviation industry.
