Neos ACMI bidding and other useful information
Dear crew,
The link to bid for the ACMI flights was sent out earlier and many of you have already submitted your bids for the upcoming temporary ACMI assignment for Neos. If you are interested in bidding for the assignment and have not already done so, we are once again providing you with the link to submit your bid.
As stated multiple times, if you are not interested in working the ACMI assignment for Neos, there is no need to bid as you will not be forced into the assignment.
The Union was able to get the Company to agree to open up the bidding to all cabin crew, regardless of special qualification, base, or AOC and that the AFA will conduct the bidding process. Keep in mind that just like any airline who performs charters, Norse has the right to narrow crew utilization to a region, base and in our case, a specific AOC if they provide sound reasoning.
As it stands right now, 2 charter flights for TUI were acquired just yesterday and the company has assigned them to crew qualified on the UK AOC. In addition, we were informed that Norse is negotiating another long term charter that is scheduled last from January to March. They stated that this assignment will only be available to crew qualified on the UK AOC.
As you read in an email sent by Management earlier today, the Neos ACMI assignment will require approximately 28 CCMs and 8 SCCMs. Everyone will fly out of US on or around December 15th and remain outside the US until mid-January, and possibly return sooner. Days off for December will be awarded before the assignment, and days off for January will be assigned after returning to US.
Crew will be required to perform security checks before each flight. Since security checks are not included in our CBA and generally not performed by the crew in USA, AFA will have to come to an agreement with Norse on this issue. We are negotiating this item right now and as soon as we reach an agreement we will share it with everyone.
As you are already aware, the contract Norse signed with NEOS permits for additional ad hoc flights. That means that additional flights might be assigned to your roster while on layovers. As a result you must be aware of the fact that traveling outside the layover city on a long layover might not be possible due to the risk of missing the assignment.
We are going to have a ZOOM meeting today at 1900 EST to discuss the Neos temporary assignment and other issues related to ACMI flights. Here is a link:
