Know Your TA - Sick Days, Vacation Days, and Holiday Pay

Dear Crew, 

We are highlighting TA improvements and answering crew questions. This newsletter discusses Sick Days, Vacation Days, and Holiday Pay.

  

Sick Days (Article 4, Part B)

  • The amount of sick days has increased from 7 to 10 per year

  • Excess sick days will be deducted at a rate of 3 block hours

  • CCMs who are sick for more than 3 consecutive days (4 or more days) will provide a doctor’s note to HR no later than 72hrs after initially reporting illness

  • A CCM is able to “donate” one or more of their sick days to another CCM on medical leave.

  • A CCM who has unpaid sick days at the end of the year shall have 50% of their unpaid sick days (rounded up to a whole number) credited as unused vacation.

 

Vacation Days (Article 9)

The number of vacation days will stay the same, not including unused sick days that are converted to Vacation days. However, we have included the following in Part B. 3: “If the Company has not allowed the crew to bid for their vacation balance in any given year, a CCM may carry the entirety of their vacation balance to the following year.”

  

Holiday Pay (Article 3 Part D)

If you work on your birthday, you now get Holiday Pay!

“A CCM who is on duty, standby, or a layover on the following days will receive a flat rate of $75 in addition to all other compensation: New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, CCM’s Birthday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and any other holiday recognized by the Company.”

  2.  Enter your activation code 

  3. Write down your username 

  4. Create, confirm and write down your password (8-number minimum) 

  5. Follow the prompts to cast your vote 

  6. Screenshot/Save as PDF/Print your confirmation 

 

Did not receive your activation code?

  1. Go to afacwa.org/elections and choose “Request a new activation code”
  2. Fill out the form and submit
  3. You will receive a new activation code at your personal email.
  4. Follow the previous steps to vote
