December 2025 Wrap Up

Dear Crew,

As the year draws to a close, we want to wish you a sincere Happy Holidays.

This year has been one of major wins but has not been without loss and difficulty.

While were successfully able to negotiate a new CBA which included major improvements for crew financially and for their quality of life at Norse, we also, unfortunately, had to furlough 91 crew members prior to the start of our winter operations and demote some Pursers.

We have also been working with the Crew Planning department trying to introduce different ways to ensure crew are effectively utilized and able to have some agency over their schedules. While we have seen some improvements, we are aware that this is not a perfect system and are continually seeking ways to improve it.

This year, our MIA base closed and those crew from MIA were folded into the JFK base. While this has been a difficult transition for the MIA crew, the majority who were not used to commuting, we saw our commuters from JFK stepping up to assist them with best practices and tips to ensure they have as stress free of the commute as possible.

As we are now one base, it further solidifies that we are a collective unit, not MIA or JFK base, but one US Crew.

Norse is changing as well. We have sent 6 planes to Indigo for a long term lease and all of the remaining US crew who are not on leave will be transferred to UKAOC by January 2026. We also know that BT has stepped down as CEO and a new one has been installed. While we have not officially met him yet, we aim to do so early next year and will update you when that occurs.

We know communication between the MEC and the membership has been difficult this year with our MEC also being instructors having to go back and forth between India, union obligations and scheduled flights to maintain recency. This is something we are working consistently on improving. If you are unable to reach us, you can always reach out to Kyle or Jhenelle and they will get the message to us as soon as possible. As they are still flying full-time while also managing their union obligations, be aware that this might mean no response for several hours as they also need to rest and recuperate.

We apologised for not being able to have our monthly Zoom meeting this month. Kat is on vacation all of December and Ted has been back and forth in India where the connection has been spotty.

We will be having a Zoom meeting in January. Date TBD as we coordinate schedules.

As a reminder, when you sell your days off to crew control for operational need, they can adjust your schedules and trips as they see fit to better suit the operation. This means changing pairings that you thought you would be assigned to because that is what they said they needed at the time. This is perfectly legal as long as regulations are followed.

Please refer to your CBA, Manuals and the EASA/UK CAA regulations if you have any questions about legality relating to operations for your trips. Ty and Rory are also resources available for you to use.

Thank you to everyone who is working during the holiday to get our passengers safely to their destination despite operational interruptions.

If you have time off during the holidays, we hope you are spending it with loved ones.

You make us proud every single day.

We wish you a happy and prosperous new year and look forward to seeing you in 2026!

In Solidarity,

Kat, Ted & your Union Committee Chairs
