AFA Committee Appointments

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for volunteering your time by applying for various Union Committees.

Your new MEC Officers will start their tenure on July 1st. In July AFA starts its new fiscal year.

We are awaiting new budget and based on it we will decide the priorities for the fiscal year.

Our focus right now is on bidding/ swapping system, EAP training of new Reps, establishing Hotel Policy to mention few.

The following committee appointments have been made:

New Hire Committee.

Due to high numbers of new hire crew being trained in JFK now we would like to welcome Penni Deem and Sarah Bower ( JFK based) as our New Hire Reps.

Human Rights Equity (HRE)

Jhenelle Jacas (JFK based ) will take a roll of HRE Rep. She is already doing great job keeping us informed, by posting on AFA FB page.  

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Sylvie Wubbena (FLL based), Vanessas Higgins and Vanessa Morales ( both JFK based) will become our EAP Reps once they complete training in May 2023.

The Scheduling Committee appointments were made January and includes Jovan Acosta, Ayana Thomas (FLL based) and Lincoln McMahon (JFK)

The Grievance Committee appointments, also made in January, includes Andrea Siligi (JFK based) and Ismael Gonzalez Ramos (FLL based).

Unless otherwise determined, all Committees are voluntary positions.

AFA MEC Officers will assume responsibility for all other Committees until further notice.
