Communications Update September 18, 2023
Hello Everyone,
Welcome to your first official Communications Committee Update.
My name is Jhenelle (she/her), and I serve as the Communications Committee Chair, as well as the Human Rights and Equity (HRE) Committee Chair.
This newsletter will be talking more about the website, best ways to contact the union, and also guidelines surrounding the Norse Atlantic Facebook page.
The Norse AFA Website
Our union website is live! Please check it out at https://norseafa.org.
On the website, you will find a copy of the contract, information and resources about the union and the company, helpful links, answers to some frequently asked questions, past newsletters, and so much more.
If you notice any issues with the website or have any information that you think should be included on it, please reach out to me at [email protected].
How To Contact Your Union Reps
- Fill out the form on the Contact Us page. The committee/union member responsible for that department will get back to you within 3 days.
- Send an email directly to the union member you are trying to reach, or send an email to [email protected]. All committee members will try to respond to your emails within 3 days.
- If you have an urgent matter to discuss with the MEC, the union does have a phone number. You can call or text them at +1 754-216-3406.
- This number is shared by all members of the MEC and so either Ted, Kat, or Ish could respond to you.
Note: When communicating with any MEC/committee member, please be sure to include your name, crew base, contact information, and as many details as possible about your question/issue.
The Norse Facebook Group
We have made some changes to the guidelines and ways to post in the Norse AFA Facebook Group.
NOTE: All members of the Facebook group must currently work with Norse as a Cabin Crew Member, and be based in the US. If you are aware that a former colleague is still a member of the group, please bring this to the attention of an admin so that that person may be removed.
- All posts will now have to be approved by an admin before they are posted on the Facebook page
- Anonymous posts are not allowed on the Facebook page
- Posts are unable to be edited on the page. If you have made a typo or there is an error, you are free to amend this in the comment section, or delete your post and resubmit for admin approval.
- This change is because we have noticed some people editing posts after the fact to skew the comment responses.
As a reminder the Facebook group is an ancillary communications tool. All official updates will be on the website, and in the newsletters sent out to the crew from the union.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].
