Katarzyna Mroczek

Position: Instructor/Senior Cabin Crew Member
Base: FLL/MIA
Pronouns: she/her

I was born on an island shared by Poland and Germany on the coast of the Baltic Sea, during the communist regime and Russian occupation. After college I moved to Denmark, and then to the USA to work on cruise ships.

I became a flight attendant in 2000 and have worked both domestically and internationally.

My first fight against oppression happened during my high school years when bans on freedom of speech, expression and religion were enforced daily.
I witnessed the history when Solidarity movement in Poland put  an end to the communism in Eastern Europe and brought the iron curtain down.

During my time of cruising the oceans I organized crew members to fight financial  exploitation of crew members.

In aviation I started my union activities by part taking in organizing at Norwegian that lead to contract negotiations and subsequently contract ratification. I served as the MEC Vice President of Council 4 at Norwegian Air Shuttle, alongside Valentin Lorien (MEC President) until we were furloughed in 2020. I continued to assist Valentin during the pandemic to negotiate contract for future Norse crew and the PreHire Agreement for all furloughed crew from Norwegian in May 2021.

At Norse, I am an Instructor and SCCM and am currently serving as your MEC President
